Interactive language learning tool
As a Bachelor's project we developed the application "lino". The final product consists of a tablet application and task sheets which are combined by the system Osmo. The application assists students in learning German as a second language and is primarily designed to relieve the teacher and to support the learners individually through various tasks. As such, it can be used during preparatory classed by small groups of students.
Special features of the application are the combination of hardware and software, the learning support adapted to the language level of the children and the inclusion of the special needs of the target group.

Lino planing tool for teacher
The teacher tool “lino plan” is used by teachers in preparatory classes to select the tasks that the children should work on. This should also facilitate communication between teachers. Teachers of preparatory classes have the problem that, due to a lack of staff, different specialists are responsible for teaching one class. Due to the constant change of teachers, it is very difficult to agree on which topics should be learned with the children and which have already been learned.“lino plan” therefore shows in chronological order which subject matter was covered by which teacher.
Lessons can also be planned on the website: the teacher defines the topic of the lesson from a catalog of topics. This topic is discussed with all the children together. At the same time, it represents the daily learning goal for beginners, since they first have to learn the basic vocabulary of the topic in order to be able to take part in the group discussion. The teacher defines separate, rough learning objectives for the advanced and expert levels. These are then automatically adapted to the individual performance level of the learning teams. In addition to the distribution of tasks, the tool also offers the possibility to view the learning status of the children, so that the teacher can address problems and mistakes of the children outside of the digital application.
