The Bee Project
This project was created as part of the subject "Interactive Communication Systems". We developed a concept to show children the consequences of their actions using the example of bees. The result is an interactive table with four honeycombs. The content shows why bees are threatened by human activities and nature. Using this interface, children playfully learn how to help the bees.

The model
The interactive table consists of a display and four haptic honeycombs. The menu items enemies, beehive, bees, bee deaths are assigned to the honeycombs. The child can now select a honeycomb and place it in the given honeycomb slot. The menu item is recognised using RFIDS and the respective landscape is shown on the display.
Interface
The interface consists of graphically processed landscapes that are tailored to the respective menu items. Within the landscapes there are different flashing elements. When selecting an item, an animated video appears explaining why, for example, the use of pesticides is so harmful to bees. There is also a small text that explains the content. The interface elements are two-dimensional and worked out in a comic-like style.
